But it is the cases finale that is troubling, and embarrassing.

Chanukah reminds every Jew that it is G-d's eternal mandate to carry the torch of His "Mitzvah-candle and Torah-light." With most Mitzvos, the "candle" and "light" are not physically visible. But with the Chanukah candles we see how fulfilling the Mitzvah creates actual physical light that illuminates all one's surroundings.
Each day of Chanukah we light fresh new candles, for every Mitzvah requires fresh and new intensity. Each day has a new fire, illustrating the ever-intensifying fire of "G-d's candle" -- the Jewish soul.

Rabbi Ovadia Yosef: Fires Only Happen Where Shabbat is Desecrated
JPOST.com - Shas Council of Torah Sages Head Rabbi Ovadia Yosef said on Saturday night that the devastating Carmel fire was a result of insufficient Shabbat observance in the area.
“Fires only happen in a place where Shabbat is desecrated,” he quoted from the Babylonian Talmud Shabbat tractate in his weekly sermon. “Homes were ruined,” he continued, “entire neighborhoods wiped out, and it is not arbitrary. It is all divine providence.”
“We must repent, keep Shabbat appropriately. When the People of Israel repent, God safeguards them with a wall of fire,” but not of the incinerating type, Yosef added.

Brooklyn, NY - Using a secret recipe to make "heartburn-free" donuts, Weiss Homemade Kosher Bakery sells 30,000-40,000 donuts during the week of Chanukah. Many Brooklyn residents claim they're the best in town -- especially the caramel donuts, which owner Avrumi Weiss tells VIN News are made using caramel flavor produced on the premises.

A spectacular tribute evening took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to
Honor and give thanks to The Chabad Yeshiva, for all of it's tireless
efforts of supporting and being at the helm of Torah studies in Sao
Paulo.
The Yeshiva is going to it's 17th year of educating many students
which currently hold pulpit positions the world over, to mark this
great milestone and as a fundraiser the Yeshiva invited Avrohom Fried,
Yeedle Werdyger & The Freilach Orchestra from NY, for a concert and
evening of tribute to the Chabad Yeshiva.
The hall was filled with good spirits, Yeedle Werdyger sang some of
his hit songs which the crowd really go in to and enjoyed, then came
Avremel who really delivered a spectacular concert, which was
absolutely heart warming, inspiring & breathtaking, Avremel really
gave a full show singing some of his classic hits from the legendary
Yossi Green, the crowd was in such high spirits that a group of
children attempted to burst on to the stage.
Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Shamai Ende spoke of the great impact the Yeshiva
has made on the community, impact and continued inspiration for the
community at large.
Rabbi Mendel Koncepolski, who is the Executive Director of the Yeshiva
said "Sao Paulo was on it's feet tonight " such an unbelievable
concert doesn't happen here every day !
The concert was produced by Yaron Levy of Pearl Productions.
